COLLEGE HISTORY
The college originated in 1998 and has gone through a number of enriching transformations.
For many years the college was run from a very attractive historic building in Surbiton, Greater London.
Having gained wide recognition by the British Council, ISI (Independent School Inspectorate) deeming it ‘exceeding expectations’ and the DfE/Ofsted, in 2018 it moved fully online to capitalise on its live teaching experience within a robust online environment.
Students experience a motivating, high quality interactive lessons delivered face-to-face online, within the comfort of own home. Excellent tutors use a bespoke interactive portal with a video link and many online tools.
The College’s most recent inspection recognised that ‘The provision of high-quality information, advice and guidance is outstanding’.
London Tutorial College has been accredited both by the ISI and the British Council and has seen many students succeed in their next steps of education and career.
London Tutorial College having been regularly inspected by JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications), follows the syllabus of Edexcel, OCR and AQA in the GCSE and A level subject teaching.
Since 2019 Mrs Sutherland the Principal of the College has been been working closely with the DFE and British Council to design a robust accreditation system for online providers as at the moment this is a totally uncharted territory with potentially serious quality and safeguarding issues.
